This Spring/Summer season 48201 Radio Records will be introducing our very own chess league, the 48201Radio Chess Mob! Details are soon to come, but we will be hosting several different types of tournaments (including speed chess, Queen-less Quest Quagmires*, and more) as well as casual chess meet and greets.

Now, the answer to the original question, “WTF is up with the new ’48201Radio Chess’ Section?”, should be more obvious. Although we are based in Cass Corridor, the heart and nuts (go ask The Bronx) of Detroit, Michigan, our listeners form a global audience from all corners of the planet (Accept Russia from some strange reason; but no worries, we have a secret guerrilla promotion platform in the works). So, in order to include as many of our listeners as possible in the Chess Mob we are beta-testing a membership based method of playing live chess games between listeners on the site from anywhere in the universe! …Provided you have an intergalactic connection to earth’s internet, of course.
